Something looks wrong with your tree. You are not sure whether to worry. You should find out before it gets worse.

Yellowing leaves, early leaf drop, a thinning canopy, unusual spots on bark, mushrooms at the base of the tree — these are things homeowners notice and then wait on, hoping it resolves. Sometimes it does. Often it does not, and by the time the problem is obvious, the treatment options have narrowed.

Plant health care is not pruning and it is not removal. It is the diagnostic and treatment side of tree care — the part where a trained arborist actually figures out what is wrong and addresses the cause, not just the symptoms. Most tree companies in the Greensboro area do not offer it. We specialize in it.

Yellowing or dropping leaves out of season?

This is one of the more common signs that something is wrong at the root level — nutrient deficiency, soil compaction, or a disease working its way through the vascular system.

Canopy thinning or sparse growth where it was dense before?

Canopy decline is often one of the last visible signs of a problem that started underground or in the vascular system months or years earlier.

Mushrooms growing at the base or unusual growth on bark?

Fungal fruiting bodies are a signal that decay is present somewhere in the tree, and where the decay is matters for the tree's structural integrity.

We evaluate before we prescribe. That is not how most tree companies work.

Precision Tree NC has three ISA certified arborists on staff. When you call us about a tree that does not look right, we do not show up with a removal quote already in mind. We show up with a clipboard and a process.

Our arborists conduct full tree health evaluations that look at the whole picture — foliage condition, bark health, root zone, soil composition, compaction, drainage, pests, and environmental stressors. We use what we find to tell you what is actually going on and what your realistic options are.

If the tree can be saved, we will tell you what that takes and how likely it is to work. If it cannot, we will tell you that plainly — and you will not have to wonder if we are saying it to sell you a removal job, because we would rather save the tree.
